Arroganter Haufen.

No clue why Google gave them their domain services. Worthless and most stupid company ever. Unlike at Google domains, here you can't update payments for domains and process. You have to add a general payment method if you're having to replace your original one for whatever reason to and then pray they will process later. Plus many links are simply broken.

And good luck thinking you can speak with anyone. They hide like the cowards they are.

If you are buying the domain business from Google you better make sure the transition is seamless. Due to configuration errors during the transition I lost a lot of my emails. And no, I do not have the time to spend countless hours with support to figure things out. Moved my domain to Cloudflare and everything started working flawlessly right away.

After 6 weeks of email support I now have/had domains being hosted at Squarespace I can't recover. BEWARE of this company! The transfer from Google Domains to Squarespace has cost me clients, days worth of time moving client domains and dealing with the worst support in the industry, and MONEY. I have spent 6 weeks with their horrible email support that never resolves anything. No chat, no phone support, and when you call the corporate offices in NYC the answering machine tells you go to the website and hangs up. If you are in the webservice business stay away from Squarespace.

Response to owner: Thank for the helpful response:-/ If you were sorry and wanted to help me you just had ANOTHER opportunity right here. It's incredible to me that you got on here to respond to this review before supporting me as your client. Instead you guide me back to your website which I've clearly described above as being completely unhelpful. I'm pretty sure I'm not the only person experiencing problems. I'm transferring all my domains. I encourage anyone reading this to do the same.

after they took over Google domains, they deleted my domain, a week or two after I had PAID for it. Since then, they’ve restored it, but they’ve been fighting with me back-and-forth over the course of the last month or so to get the domain up and functioning properly again.

I wish I could give them less than one star, and warn people about the things that they do before they go to spend money on square space, but this is the best I can do.

I have no idea why Google would ever sell their domain services, which worked fantastic, to this company. Since the transition, I have had e-mails get lost in the ether. I create new e-mail alias. I have at least 50 to 100 e-mail aliases for some of my domains. Some of them fail. When it was previously under Google, everything worked fine.

In addition, I *strongly* believe that some of my domains' billing information was wiped, as some of my domains were previously paid for, for 3, 5, 10 years. This is theft by deception, pure and simple. I recently learned that Squarespare is owned by a private equity company, which explains all you need to know. In 2024, this is unacceptable.

Was interested in possibly becoming a customer. I had questions that I couldn’t find answers to on the website. No phone or chat support (even though they say that they have chat support) but no button to connect with chat. Was unfortunately paired up with a cruel customer support person named Pat. Cruel is putting it lightly. Honestly not sure why anyone would consciously choose this company? They don’t care about customers or even potential customers. I mean, to treat a potential customer as poorly as Pat treated me is unreal. I mean, some of is who are over 40 sometimes need to have a conversation to get answers to our questions using our voice, speaking and conversation. As far as ease of information goes, not at all easy to find answers to questions.

I personally find the customer service to be nearly nonexistent. We've been trying to log in to our Squarespace account, which manages our Google domain, but we simply can't get in. The reset emails for the expired password never arrive (it's been literally days) and often the site pages won't even load. In this day and age, that's almost unthinkable. We've tried contacting them via email to no avail.

As we're about to launch our website, this lack of response is causing delays in our project. Unfortunately, since our client's domain is with Squarespace, we can't move forward with transferring it. Hopefully, this google review would get us some assistance as it's been honestly frustrating.

UPDATE TO REPLY TO THEIR RESPONSE BELOW:
The team mentioned "Experiencing high volume of requests", I don't think a password reset email is considered a request for the customer service support team, isn't that suppose to be automated? So how come we don't receive those password reset emails? Other companies with a working site would usually send in a password reset email within seconds, it's 2024 guys.
